Final major, first day, First feedback

Yesterday was the first official day back at uni and I attended my Final major project lesson where we were given an introduction  to the project and then split between tutors into small groups. My chosen tutor is Clementine O'hara. I was really happy about this as she has a strong back ground in fashion and can provide alot of helpful feedback for my proposed idea.

The tips Clementine gave me to consider for my magazine are the following:

 - I need to start planning layouts for the magazine on InDesign in order to start understanding where my images will be placed when shot.

- I need to make sure I scout a good range of quality models to keep the magazine within the high fashion standard. Different races etc. All models must be perfect for the agency and must meet specific criteria.
-From this feedback I have started to look at web sources such as modelmayhem.com in order to contact potential strong models for the agency.

- I need to focus on the Agency's (Brand's) ethos. State what the agency is about, it's beleifs and morals within the fashion industry and it's attitude towards it's models and clients.

-I also need to start looking at possible logos and fonts for the magazine to represent Mae's Management in a professional manner.

For next week's session I will bring in more examples of magazines and layouts. I will also have completed the criteria stated earlier in this entry.

This evening I have been planning a shoot for thursday 24th Jan. the model will be Alexa Baigent,a model chosen for the agency. This will be the first shoot towards the magazine. Below are two mood boards I created in preparation for the shoot for inspiration:

The first is a head shot style board and the second, possible pose choices for the model.

The model scouted and chosen for this particular shoot is Alexa Baigent.

I am really excited to work with Alexa as the style concept of the shoot suits her perfectly. The photographer I will be collaborating with for the shoot also is Ashleigh Bell. All three of us seem to be on the same wave length with what images need to be produced so I'm hoping the shoot will be a very successful start to 'Mae' Magazine.
